In the safety of a supportive non-judgemental therapeutic relationship arts processes support the individual to express feelings that cannot be expressed in words and explore feelings and events that are either overwhelming or hidden. Trust and confidentiality are key elements of the therapeutic relationship.
Individual arts therapy sessions are generally one hour per week. Artistic skill are not required. Arts Therapy is about the process not the product. Playfulness and curiosity are a part of these processes.
I am ACC registered. While I no longer take any new clients as main ACC provider I do offer adjunct Arts Therapy.
Arts Therapy can be a part of your journey to wellbeing with individual arts therapy sessions, or group sessions.
March 2024 Update – I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING ANY NEW REFERRALS FOR INDIVIDUAL ARTS THERAPY FOR ADULTS!

CONNECTING WITH SELF AND OTHERS
GROUP ARTS THERAPY for ACC SENSITIVE CLAIMS CLIENTS
A Hamilton-based closed group therapy option for ACC Sensitive Claims clients. The program is aimed at individuals who have experienced trauma but have made significant progress in their journey towards healing and are preparing to reintegrate into usual activities. We believe the process will contribute to clients’ overall mental wellbeing, self-understanding, and relational outcomes – by supporting them to connect with themselves, with others and with their environment.
The group is facilitated by Marion Hunt (Counsellor) and Elske Reyneke-Barnard (Clinical Arts Therapist).
September UPDATE: Our second group is currently underway. The next group is scheduled for February to April and we have limited spaces left.
Friday mornings from 10am to 11.30 – over 8 weeks
